But What About Splenda?

What I am about to tell you may very well disturb you….and shock your reality, I will get to that in a moment.

So the major diet trend over the last several years has been to avoid sugar, processed carbohydrates, and high glycemic foods.

The new trend is geared toward how these foods are leading to chronic inflammation which reeks havoc on your body, in the way of pain, allergies, food sensitivities, chronic immune diseases, weight gain, and so on and so on.

The truth is that everything that I just said is absolutely true.  One of the best health decisions that you can ever make for yourself is to cut down or completely eliminate what are called the “white trash” foods from your diet.  White rice, white sugar, and white bread (and all of the derivatives of these products).

Unfortunately, this can be very difficult to accomplish since almost all of our foods contain these products if they are processed or boxed. In other words, if you have to read the label you will probably find one of these products or a derivative of these products in the ingredients list.

What is truly scary, and may totally shock you, is that many people in an attempt to follow these health guidelines are making a health decision that is just as dangerous to your body or may even cause more damage to your body.

Due to a tremendous amount of effort by those of us in the natural health field, many of you have become aware of the dangers of artificial sweetners, and while many of you still consume them on a daily basis, millions of people have improved their health by elimiating the consumption of fake sugars like sacchrine, asulfame K, equal, sweet and low, and however many other names the manufacturers have come up with to try to hide these chemicals from you.

Well in the last few years the food industry has made a tremendously successful rebound back into the “health food” world by introducing splenda or sucralose into the market.  With a great marketing campaign stating that it is natural, it tastes like sugar because it is made like sugar, etc…millions of people have jumped back into this dangerous habit thinking that they are making a healthy food choice.

I am in fact amazed that most of the healthfood stores now adays carry “healthier” versions of normal foods that all contain splenda or sucralose.

Please understand what I am saying, this is a new assault on our health!  The product is relatively new on the market and I want you to mark my words, over the next several years, as the studies start to roll in, we will learn that this product is just as toxic to our body, if not more toxic than all of the other artificial sweetners.  This is not a “health food” but instead a toxin that is already negatively effecting the lives of millions.

Here are a few facts about this dangerous toxin:

Sucralose can cause one to suffer from sluggishness, fatigue, make legs feel like
lead weights, mood swings, severe cramps (female), intense pain, painful bowel
movements, bloating, dizziness, confusion, and more.

Seven (7) out of ten (10) American women consume sucralose daily. (Wholly Cow!)

“The artificial sweetener sucralose (Splenda) is made by binding three chlorine
atoms to a molecule of sugar. The problem: Chlorine reacts with organic material to
create chlorination by-products (CBPs) that can trigger chronic symptoms like fatigue,
headaches and brain fog, as well as reproductive and immune problems.”

“Sucralose is found in nearly 4,000 food, beverage and health-care products,
including diet drinks, ice cream, protein bars, vitamins and toothpaste.” It is also
found in gum, over-the-counter drugs, and salad dressings.

Consumer use of sucralose has grown annually by 10%.

70% of those who consume sucralose (Splenda) will have a sensitivity to it and
develop symptoms. (Do you understand the significance of this, 70% of american women use sucralose daily and 70% of those women will have symptoms due to sensitivity!)

If one is experiencing symptoms from consuming sucralose (Splenda), the
solution is to stop taking it and to “Flush Your System” as follows:
“Supplementing daily [for 2 months] with 600 mg of the amino acid N-acetyl-lcysteine
(NAC) boosts the body’s production of glutathione, according to a study in
the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. This antioxidant
(glutathione) flushed CBPs from the body.” (You may call us at the office to get a good quality glutathione product)

If these symptoms are caused by sucralose (Splenda) sensitivity, elimination from the
diet for a minimum of 2 weeks should start to improve symptoms:
Unexplained Tiredness, Brain Fog, Nausea, Joint Pain,
Cramps/Bloating, Diarrhea, Headaches, Dizziness,
Mood Swings, Depression.

So in otherwords, it will behoove all of us to start reading our labels and avoid this toxin.  It will be listed as either splenda or sucralose on the label.  Keep in mind, that almost all gums now have artificial sweetners in them, it is very difficult to find a gum without it.
