Behavior 1- Be Present

Hello Everyone,

Well, as promised, today I am bringing you “Way of Being #1” that I have observed in my studies of successful and happy individuals.

Before I give you the answer, I want to ask you….Do you experience Guilt, Grief, Regret on a daily basis?  Do you spend your days wishing that things were the way that they used to be?

Do you experience fear or anxiety on a daily basis?  Or even worse, are you a member of the “soonas tribe” that was discussed yesterday?

If you fit into the first two questions, then you spend time in the first two questions then you are living in the past..if you spend time in the last two you are living in the future.

This is a little self test you can ask yourself each day.  If you find yourself feeling these emotions….bring yourself back into the present moment…because successful way of being #1….

Being Present….

The past is gone, you can do nothing about it but learn from it.  Look back at it, if the memories are good, try to learn the good lesson and move on, if the memory is bad, learn what steps not to repeat and move on.

Bring the lessons into the present and live by those lessons and there will be no need to look back any longer.  Now you can put all of your focus in the present moment, because this is where your power is.  This is the only moment that you can be cause over.

If you are anxious or worryful about the future then again, stop and bring yourself into the present moment.

I can’t remember where I read this or exactly how the quote goes, but it is something to the effect of “the things we fear we experience 100’s of times through our fear….even though the vast majority of the time the feared event never even happens.”

I have found this to be true in my life… there is no power in living in the future.  All you have control over is your choices that you are making in this moment, the actions you are taking in this moment.

For example if you want to lose weight, there is a lot of anxiety when you start thinking about never having your favorite food again…or what will you eat when you go out to dinner with friends (living in the future)….or “I have tried and failed so many times” (living in the past).

Instead, think about breakfast….and breakfast only.   What healthy choices can you make for this meal right now.  That is where the power is.  And then you achieve your goal one meal at a time, one day at a time…always in the present moment.

You can apply this to everything.

Remember, your life is perfect where you are right now….this is where you are meant to be, so start from here….begin moving towards what is important for you with congruent behavior based on your goals….

Be Present and watch miracles happen.
